Privacy Policy — POMEO

1. Who we are

POMEO ("we", "us") is a free-to-play football prediction game operated by [UNO Studios] from Abuja, Federal Capital Territory, Nigeria. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you use POMEO, why we collect it, and the rights you have over it. It is written to align with the Nigeria Data Protection Regulation (NDPR) and the Nigeria Data Protection Act.

POMEO is free to play — there is no entry fee, purchase, deposit, withdrawal, wager or stake required to enter or play. Winners are determined solely by how accurately they predict real match results.

2. Information we collect

Account information. When you sign in with Google, we receive your email address and basic profile information (such as your name) from Google. We do not receive your Google password.

Profile information. The country you select when you join, your display name, and your in-game activity.

Gameplay information. Your match and bonus predictions, points, rankings, and the leagues you create or join.

Campaigns, rewards and sharing information. When we run reward campaigns (such as the monthly engagement giveaway, Referral Rewards and Participation Rewards), we record the in-app activity that earns points — for example posts, predictions, reactions and shares — and referral connections (who joined through your link). Where you share a tracked link (a link tagged with your handle and the platform you shared to), we record the resulting tap-throughs; to count them fairly and prevent abuse we store a visitor identifier for the device that opened the link. This identifier is not linked to your name and is used only for fair counting.

Social handles (for payout verification). If you choose to add your social media handles (for example Instagram, X, Facebook, TikTok, Threads or LinkedIn) in your profile, we store them so that, if you earn a reward for off-platform sharing or engagement, we can verify that the account which engaged matches the handle you provided. Handles are collected for verification only and are not shown on your public profile.

Device and technical information. To keep the game fair, we collect a device identifier (a "fingerprint") and your IP address. We use these to detect when one person is using multiple accounts to gain an unfair advantage. We also collect basic technical data such as browser type and approximate usage (for example, whether you are currently active).

Payout information (winners only). If you win a cash prize, we ask for the bank details needed to pay you. Those details are submitted directly to our payments partner, Paystack, which sets up the transfer and returns a payment token (a recipient reference) to us. We store only that token — never your raw account number. We use the token solely to instruct the payment to the account you provided. We do not collect or store card numbers or any other payment credential.

3. How we use your information

We use your information to:

  • create and operate your account and let you sign in;
  • run the game — record your predictions, calculate points, and rank players;
  • detect and prevent multiple-account abuse and other unfair play, and to protect the integrity of prizes;
  • where you win a cash prize, set up and instruct your payout through our payments partner using the payment token described above;
  • maintain the security and reliability of the service;
  • contact you about important changes to the service or this policy.

4. Legal bases (for users in the EU/UK — GDPR)

We rely on: performance of a contract (to run the game you signed up for); our legitimate interests (to keep the game fair, secure, and free of abuse); your consent (where required); and legal obligation (where the law requires).

5. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run POMEO, under appropriate safeguards:

  • Google — sign-in (authentication).
  • Supabase — database and authentication hosting.
  • Vercel — application hosting.
  • FingerprintJS (open-source) — generates the device identifier used for fair-play detection.
  • Paystack — payments partner. For winners only, your bank details are sent to Paystack to set up the transfer; we receive back only a payment token and never store the raw account number.

We may also disclose information where required by law, or to protect our rights, users, or the integrity of the game.

6. Cookies and local storage

We use essential cookies and local storage to keep you signed in and to remember preferences such as light/dark mode. We do not use them for advertising.

7. Data retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active. Payout tokens for winners are kept only as long as needed to make and reconcile the payment and to meet financial record-keeping obligations. When you delete your account, we delete your personal information, subject to any limited records we are legally required to keep.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live (including under [Nigeria]'s NDPR and the EU/UK GDPR), you have the right to access, correct, delete, and port your information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent.

You can delete your account and personal data at any time from within the app (Settings → Delete account). To exercise any other right, contact us at hello@pomeopredikts.com. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

9. Security

We protect your information using industry-standard measures, including encryption in transit, database row-level security so users can only access their own data, and restricted administrative access. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to keep your information safe.

10. International transfers

Our service providers may process data outside your country. Where they do, we rely on appropriate safeguards as required by applicable law.

11. Children

POMEO is not directed at children under the age of [13], and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here and change the "Last updated" date above. Significant changes will be communicated in the app.
